I am not even sure if there is such a thing as Supernatural, unless ofcourse if you are listening to something by Carlos Santana. I used to look at the anaemic and pasty faces of the goths and witches and practitioners of Theosophy, along with the scary brothers in Free Masonry and the church of Mormon, and wonder, now my skin just crawls, stay away from the night, keep your eyes towards the light. Yes, and stay sane.

I'm trying but this type of thread keeps reminding me of the darkness. I think you will also find that the word church/ekklesia does not really mix well with Spiritualist; they are not of the same family. Certain modern movements, ie: The Church Growth Movement, and the Emergent Church have not made such a clear division, and along with the Ecumenical Unification between the different denominations and world religions, the distinction has all but disappeared. Perhaps you thread has a lot more potential than I reaolized. Excuse my hasty judgment. Peace.

The Spiritualist churches I have been to are not at all like that Eric.

The Spiritualist Churches believe in Light and Love, not the dark.

They do not practice dark arts or witchcraft and are not goths, these are something totally different.

If you have not tried it DO NOT KNOCK IT, at least have the curtesy to check it out before you make such comments that mix up three entirely differnt forms of beliefs . Goths and witches are not spiritualists.
(You are after all knocking someone elses religion.)

As for witches, you have all sorts of different "religious " beliefs not just black practice. Wicca is not evil or dark.It is about light, love, nature, the earth the moon etc and much much more. (Feel free to add or correct if you are wiccan)

The Goths are ( I believe) facsinated with the dark, and death? (I stand to correction) I do not knock what they do, I cannot, I have not tried it.

As for the supernatural, contact Ray MacCauley and ask him about Demons! I was a member of his church and was lead down the road of fighting demons and casting out demons etc by my local cell group! they are real and bloody awful!

One night I had been in prayer for over 3 hours, prostrated on the ground, a huge weight came down on me and started to crush me. I fought it with prayer, the only thing I saw was a pair of red eyes darting under the bed! The curtains were stripped open! I was put under attack for my prayers. They are real and supernatural.

Do not advise people what do do if you have not investigated these things and know nothing about them. IE your advice to AD to stay away from the night, implying spiritualism is dark.

Spiritualism is a religion, do not put it down, I, we and they do not knock yours or my Christianity.

Wicca is a religion and practice witchcraft which involves spells etc using nature etc. It is so much more than what you think, nothing evil there believe me.

Christianity is not necessarily the RIGHT religion and should tolerate other religions, by not doing so you begin to mimic the Islamic Religion Extremists.

To answer your question Ad yes I have had a supernatural experience a few in fact I will tell you about one only.

My brothers 4 month old boy died of cot death. I went up for the funeral and stayed with him and his family. I slept in the kids bedroom. The 2 boys shred a bed while I had the other bed.

At the foot of the bed was a toy box. I was lying on my stomach sleeping and woke to hear someone scratching in the toy box. I turned and saw a women with long black hair in a flowing dress looking for toys, on sensing my waking and turning she "wafted" out of the room. I jumped up and ran to my sister inlaws bed to check on her, thinking it was her, she was fast asleep.

I told them about it in the morning and she (sis inlaw) went to the toy box to have a look, she couold not find the littleones (David) special little soft toy, she searched the house, the garden, the cars, it could not be found, to this day it was never found.

You cannot admit when you are wrong can you?

You preach at every opportunity you get. You run away from answering questions, by closing threads and ignoring them.

You only see what you want to see Eric and nothing else. You are quick to judge if it does not fit in with your way of thinking. you are closed minded.

You may be seeking enlightenment by studying religions, but you will never attain enlightenment if you do not open yourself more to seeing other view points and checking out the "opposition" religions" instead of just criticising (spelling?) them and putting them down, knocking them so to say.

I've been involved in many "spiritual" churches that had nothing to do with God's spirit at all. We must be very careful because there is alot of deception out there in the name of church. Satan's masterful deception is to appear in the guise of an angel of light. Two scriptures that I think of often helped me during those times....

"Beloved believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know you the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God.." 1 John 4:1

These teachers, Satan's servants, appeared as preachers of righteousness.

We are told to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves for a reason. Satan is a clever devil.

I think that anyone who wants to believe in the supernatural will come across an unnatural phenomenon,and someone who's not even aware of it,wont feel a thing.

This term "familiar spirits" - These are evil spirits impersonating dead human beings, and attaching themselves only to mediums and those who give up their will to them.
A dread reality is provided against by these enactments. See chapter 20 verse27, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, 1 Chronicles 10:13-14, Isaiah,8:19.
The Hebrew word Ob, borrowed from an Akkadian word, Ubi,= a charm,used of one who was mistress of the spell, or spirit Isaiah 29:4.
Also see Acts16:16, where it is defined as "a spirit of Python" (Pythius Apollo), Satan. Satan that old serpent, the devil, also known as Apollyon, the little horn, the king of tyre, the dragon, the son of perdition, the wicked one, the man of sin, and so on. Stop fooling around with this crap.

I’ve seen my spirit guide. One night, when I was lying awake in my bed, I suddenly felt a great sense of weightlessness and lightness. I began to look around my room, viewing it as if I was sitting upright in my bed. Yet bizarrely, I saw that my head was still on the pillow. I couldn’t lift my head, and it felt as though my physical body was weighed down, or paralised. Yet I was looking around the room, seeing everything very clearly.

I saw a light shining down onto my body. I also felt the distinct presence of somebody standing next to my bed. I turned around, (via my awareness / consciousness / spirit, or whatever it is), expecting to see Jesus standing there. But it wasn’t Jesus. It was an old man with a friendly face. He smiled at me.

I look at him, somewhat amazed, and cherished this new perspective for a minute or two. Then, I suddenly snapped back into my physical body, as if an elastic band had snapped. The light over my body disappeared, and I could no longer see the bloke standing there next to me. I could now lift my head, which felt extremely heavy in compassion to my previous state. It was like my body was covered in lead. (This was back to the normal physical state). I turned around and went to sleep, content in the knowledge that I’d just had my first psychic experience.
