Mugabe will not be beaten.
Published on June 13, 2008 By adnauseam In International

Robert Mugabe has, with today's declaration of "War" against the MDC (opposition), started a civil war in his country. I have for long hoped that Zimbabwe would never get to this point but Mugabe, having been beaten in the last elections, will now ensure, with the assistance of his military (who are actually in control), that the MDC will not win any power in Zimbabwe.

What is really happening in this God-forsaken country? The military will ensure that MDC supporters will be beaten into "no vote" ghosts. The military will also ensure that any naysayers will pay for their "crimes". I expect a period of turmoil with two possible results: Mugabe will be, like Amin, Sese Seko and others, perpetrator  of a rotting, civil war ; and, I believe  that International intervention will be unavoidable.

If there is no intervention then shame on you brooding, hypocritical organisations and nations that beg for food in Africa but can't face Mugabe head on. His people are just as starved as the Ethiopians!

Mbeki cannot be called on for help. Can Ban Ki Moon? Does anyone care? Silently, I pray that Zimbabwe will erupt so that others pay attention.

I read about the killing of Didirai Chipiro. It really is unimagineable to me. There is going to be a long dark period for Zimbabwe.
