Item 1: Comrade Mugabe has had a lot to say lately. He has made a "Royal " pronouncement on the mistakes Britain has made by going into Iraq and he has blamed Britain for Zimbabwe's suspension from the Olympics.

In fact Comrade Bob blames Britain for everything: His piles give trouble, he blames Tony. He has constipation, he blames Tony. In his wisdom he probably blames Tony for the AIDS afflicting his family.

I feel sorry for Bob. He just cannot see that the one person who has really messed up Zimbabwe is himself. I'm amazed no-one has bumped him off yet--he is rather senile after all.

I have a message for Comrade Bob: The South African Bishops' Conference has just ended in Durban. The men of the cloth prayed especially for the Sudan and Zimbabwe. Wise men that they are, they know exactly what is going on in Africa. Aligning Zimbabwe with the Sudan is a shocking indictment of Bob's rule.

Item 2: Dear Comrade Robert, in one of his regular utterances a few weeks ago, mentioned that Zimbabwe was "quite self-sufficient" as far as food was concerned. He said that there had been good harvests and donations of food were not needed.

Really? In a press release over the weekend The Zambian Agricultural Union announced that a record maize crop this year would result in exports to Zimbabwe, Angola and other African countries. Hope Bob can pay because he pays for nothing else. He owes Libya and Egypt for oil, South Africa for electricity and Botswana for meat.

AND, here's the rub: I'm pretty well up on African affairs and I can tell you that I read an article 3 months ago about 30 Ex-Zimbabwean farmers who have boosted the Maize crop in Zambia by 90%. Put that in your pipe Bob!
