Knight of the Fatwa!
Published on June 18, 2007 By adnauseam In Current Events
Salman Rushdie, he of the Satanic Verses and the ridiculous fatwa, is to be knighted by the Queen of England for services to literature. A writer of high repute and sensible logical discussion, Rushdie deserves his honour.

However the powers that be (or is that the powers of irrationality?), in Iran and Pakhistan have condemned Britain for granting this knighthood. They are mortified and insulted by the knighthood.

Who gives a F**k. Do we all have to bow to Islamic countries and kow-tow to their demands? Do we have to consider piss-pot states with their foul madrassas and immature, unbalanced ideas about what God wants? In fact, it is always the fanatical countries who inspire radicalism and hatred. When do they grow up?

A smoking ban comes into effect in the UK on July 1st. All well and good. I hope I can go to Hyde Park and have a fag without being looked down upon. Probably not, because the World is so full of bigots, hypocrites and do-gooders who think they are purer than thou. I am not digressing---it sums up the Iranians and Pakistanis perfectly. Leave us all alone. We shall knight who we wish to and we shall smoke out in the open. Is that good enough for you?

I apologise for the double entendre!

I salute the Queen for doing what is right. I hope that Britain continues on that path, regardless of the threats from the peaceful.

England already bows enough to Islam, leaving parts of History out of schools that might offend Islamic children, {fuck em}. Never mentioning the Holocaust because in the Islamic teaching. the holocaust never happened and it is a JEWISH lie, so the powers that be in England will not offend the little future terrorists.

That has a whole 'nuther meaning in Texas, Ad but I do get your drift.

Leave us all alone. We shall knight who we wish to and we shall smoke out in the open. Is that good enough for you?

Perfectly good! And I agree 100%

'We shall knight who we wish to ...'
Yeah, like you - or any other Joe UK Citizens - get any say in the matter! While it chooses to adhere to the current archaic and politically motivated honours system, I agree that the UK should be free to honour whomsoever it chooses. However, I disagree vehemently with almost all your arguments as to why.

'Do we have to consider piss-pot states with their foul madrassas ...'
This line betrays your malice. So these are 'piss-pot states' because you don't like their cuisine? Incidentally, if by 'madrassas' you mean the plural of 'madras', then I believe you will find that this dish derives not from Iran or Pakistan, but from India - the birthplace of Salman Rushdie, incidentally.

'Probably not, because the World is so full of bigots, hypocrites and do-gooders who think they are purer than thou. I am not digressing---it sums up the Iranians and Pakistanis perfectly.'
Oh, that's just hilarious. Stop it!
