Why would Al Qaeda be bombing Algeria?

About a year ago the old Algerian terrorist group that used to attack France swore allegiance to al Qaeda. Rumor is they will resume attacking France in the near future.

Doc: That's what the news claims. I don't know.

I remember that Baker, but why are the bombing Algeria? SHouldn't they be bombing France (Well not should they but why are not they)?

It's the 'traitor' mentality, much the same reason that bin Laden hates the Saud family.

I was listening to a news story on Muslims in London recently. They had interviewed several of the extremists as well as several of the mainstream moderates. I think one particular Muslim gentleman put it best when speaking about the leading extremist leader in London; "His is not an ideology, it's a mental illness".

What a wise statement. Zealotism of any sort, IMO, is a mental illness. I would pay for this statement to be advertised so others realise this.
