...well, I'll try
Published on December 29, 2006 By adnauseam In Blogging
I am seriously thinking about my New Year's Resolutions this year. I suppose it's because I turn "six-oh" and that requires more serious thought. Here are my five resolutions:

1. I shall cut down on alcohol consumption.
2. I shall write another book (The last one took two years and landed in the bin!)
3. I shall walk more (not 1 mile a day but 5).
4. I shall take up more hobbies (I work a full day but I'm bored out of my cranium).
5. I shall endeavour to give more to the poor people of Cairo.

Well I'm going to try. For those who love lists please look at my link. It's good fun.
Happy New Year!

So when is the big 60?

A pity you put the book in the bin - you could have put it up on JU in chapters and we could have read it!

I never make new years resolutions because I never stick to them - I am hopelessly lacking in discipline!

Giving more to the poor of Cairo - sounds good, you must tell us about what you do and get involved with in that light.

You have a very good New year too and may all good fortune touch you.

Those sound like some worthy goals. I have to think about mine for a bit. I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew. I think I'm going to try to limit myself and keep them somewhat achievable.

So what hobbies are you going to try? Archaeology. You reminded me that I have to go to the Hathshepsut exhibit because it's done here at the end of the year. I would love to visit Egypt at some point and see all the sights. That's on my list of 43 things. I want to see the whole world. The more exotic the better.

To Jen: Disregard the link and try www.43things.com on its own or google it! The big 60 is in September but I'm being positive and looking forward to the big 70! (Ha-ha).

To Loca: No, archaeology is not on my list. Thinking of growing herbs on my balcony or studying again (at 60!).

Damn!  Got me by 9.  I am so jealous - NOT!

Great resolutions, but I dont make them.  Why?  Because if I cannot do them in my normal life, I am either not good enough, or too stupid to keep them as resolutions.  But that is just me.

I agree with Doc, great resolutions! I have't pinned mine down yet but I'm making some. Good luck with yours Adnauseam!
