..is it more than just a snack?

Wow, Xythe posted a recipe for Italian sausages, peppers and potatoes and my taste buds went jumping. That meal would make a fine midnight snack, warmed over and perhaps filled into a baguette.

My favourite midnighter is a cheese, ham and pickle baguette and I might also add some "biltong" , South African dried beef, venison or ostrich. It is very dry and hard but full of spices and it can be fried in oil to give it more tenderness and a richer flavour. Australians and Americans have jerkie but it is not the same.

Another great late night spoiler is shredded leftover KFC fried in oil for a minute or two with melted cheese then enjoyed on a bun with lettuce, tomato and grainy herb mustard.

Yeah, I know why I'm overweight.

fried chicken cold right out of the fridge. Or cold pizza. Or ANYTHING 'cause when I'm hungry, I'm hungry!

OHhhhhh,  midnight snacks

Yumm,  I love a sandwich of turkey on homemade bread,  or else turkey on rye,  with Miracle Whip and lettuce and washed down with a big cold glass of milk.

Sometimes a piece of pie with that glass of milk.

If I can't sleep I get out a movie and make popcorn and watch the movie til I fall asleep.

Honestly, my fridge is always full of some left over suppers from the past couple of nights, and plenty of COLD beers

My midnight snacks go at least a hour, and I like to watch a show while I chomp. So like Shovel mentioned in an earlier article, I'd like to see the info mertials go.

Hostess cupcakes, filled with that creamy, dreamy center and covered with all that tasty frosting . . . upside down. Save that frosting for last.

Leftover chicken-broccoli casserole.

Salt and vinegar potato chips dipped in baked beans.

Gatorade . . . especially the fierce flavors . . . to wash any of these down. (With the obvious exception of the cupcake, gotta have milk for that sucker)
