This list was posted on www.iafrica.com. I found it interesting but don't totally agree:
LEAST corrupt countries:
Finland
IceLand
New Zealand
Denmark
Singapore
Sweden
Switzerland
Norway
Australia
Netherlands
Most Corrupt:
Haiti (no surprise).
Myanmar
Iraq (terminal-don't think it should rate!)
Guinea
Sudan (Oh yes!)
DRCongo
Chad
Bangladesh
Uzbekistan
Equatorial Guinea (Don't agree--should be above DR Congo).
The least corrupt African State was Botswana (Yes, totally agree), at 37th place. I have visited 3 times and their attitude is "get better". Their currency is also one of the strongest in Africa.
Zimbabwe came in at 20 below Equatorial Guinea and I don't agree. Although there are some judicial and economic systems in place, Mugabe has to rate higher on the list due to his tyrranical rule. I would position him above the DRC (severe problems incurred due to pressure from neighbouring plunderers).
For interests sake the UK was the in 11th position, just off the top ten, and the USA was the 20th least corrupt country (this is interesting because the USA was only 17 places higher than Botswana). I'd be interested to know why the USA is not in the top ten.
