It's the weekend so take a break and think of the ten most amazing things you have seen in your life--or experienced. It could be historical, unbelievably awe-inspiring, wondrous, breathtaking --you name it! I'll kick off with my ten then see if you can describe ten(or five, if you cant). No prizes--just some laid-back writing for Joeusers to enjoy.

1. I flew out from Cape town two years ago and as the plane climbed out over False Bay I saw a huge whale below. I've seen many whales before but seeing this one from 3000 ft was very special.
2. Driving a Lotus 7 was crazy fun--better than my rotary engined Mazda.
3. I was in showbiz in a more shadowy time of my life and hung out with the Trogs at a party. They were nice guys.
4. Flying over the Alps in Winter at 10 000m. Awesome.
5. I fainted when my son was born but relieved that he had come through OK--it was touch and go. A most humbling privilege to hear that little boy cry.
6. The Tutankhamen exhibition in the Cairo Museum. Those solid gold coffins and the gold mask from 2500 years ago are just magnificent to see.
7. Seeing my work published in a book (poetry) and my article published on the front page of a newspaper! Seeing my photo on the front page embarrassed me!
8. Flying as a guest in a traffic patrol helicopter.
9. Catching a Barracuda from a fishing boat in St Lucia. It was a damn big fish and I'll treasure the memory.
10. Eating freshly caught lobster on a deserted beach in Angola.

Your turn Joeusers.

This is sad. Other than watching the birth of my 2 sons everything else kinda sucks...

I think I'll go hang myself now. Nah, on second thought a beer sounds good...

I'll join you.

I've never seen or done anything interesting. I did once see a guy win an argument with his wife. That was pretty amazing.

I'm still young; there's still a lot I haven't experienced yet, so I'll leave it to 5. They're in no particular order

1. living in a mud-brick shack on the side of a river in a tiny village on Java. It was the most serene yet mosquito-infested place I've ever been in.

2. Spent an awesome night with film stars in Jakarta. They definitely know how to party.

3. Got offered my second job. Job offers rock, particularly when you don't apply for them.

4. Submitted my research thesis for my exchange year. That was a good feeling, just to know it was over and I now had a book with my name on the front in an Indo library.

5. Won 500 bucks playing the pokies after putting only a dollar in. That a great night, although it ended up costing 600... still, it was worth it.

Kudos to Jennifer 1 who, though she has her troubles, has led an exciting life. You will never regret, or forget, those memories.
