What do Jousers think?
Published on September 23, 2006 By adnauseam In Politics
When it comes to American politics I am naive. A report in the UK Mail on Sunday (by William Rees Mogg), suggests that Senator John Mc Cain and Rudi Guillaini (don't know about that spelling), will be up amongst the leaders. I heard months ago that Senator Hillary Clinton was a certainty for the race. Have things changed and who do Jousers think will be the next President?

Who are the other contenders and, seriously, who has the most credence to take over from a President who, though he may have the confidence of some, is becoming further ostracised as time passes? Judging by the outpouring of feelings in Manchester today, it is becoming apparent that Tony Blair, and, by implication, his mentor Bush, are as popular as two scorpions in a hooker's bordello.

McCain and Giuliani are to moderate to get the GOP behind them. I am thinking Mitt Romney maybe, I really do not have a clue yet, for sure on the right there are no real frontrunners as of yet.

If Shrillary Clinton runs, she will lose, as moderates and conservatives hate her.

He's a great man and would be a great president. But there's still too many people who say they would never vote for a Mormon, regardless of political ideals - they say they'd rather vote for someone they don't agree with than a Mormon they do agree with.

Course, lots of people said the same thing about Catholics before Kennedy ran . . . and won.

Adnauseum, it mystifies even us colonials! I am intrigued with MM's pick. It could be. Peronsally, I would like to see Bill Richardson, but like McCain and Guilani, he cant get through the nomination.

One thing I do know. It will not be Arnie "the terminator" Scharzenegger!

It'll be me. I'll be announcing my candidacy some time early next year.

If Giulliani/McCain run, there is a good chance i'll be going towards them with my vote.

However, that depends if they are close to my beliefs, and who the DNC puts up as the Dem nomination.

I would think Denzel Washington would have a better chance at becoming president than Hillary Clinton.
