...or a fable about Iraq.
Published on March 19, 2006 By adnauseam In Current Events
A man went into a bullring to fight a dangerous bull. He had heard that the bull was very dangerous. The bull was actually more timid than he thought and he quickly killed the bull. This was watched (on the other side of the fence), by another bull who had a lot of friends. The other bull and his friends, attracted by the lack of caring being given to the cows, attacked the man and soon overran the bullring. The man had a choice: leave the bullring or stay and fight the bull and his friends. Unfortunately the man did not realise how many friends the bull had. The man had to make a decision: Fight the bull and his friends (and a lot of unhappy cows), or leave.

Are we now, my American friends, at the nemesis of the Iraqui war? Are we putting lives on the line for what is now increasing internal strife? Is it going to go away? We all know that there are duplicitous undercurrents, and more sinister people fighting against stability in Iraq.Should it be "cut and run" or "stay and pray?"

I'm only really asking for your views here. My daughter, resident in Britain, tells me there is a rising tide against Blair; for sleaze and about the war. Do you feel similarily about Bush?

"The other bull and his friends, attracted by the lack of caring being given to the cows, attacked the man and soon overran the bullring."

There's where the fable falls apart. The insurgency never waited to see how we'd do, they started killing people immediately. Worse, it is made up from cows from other areas that would be attacking in Iraq or WHEREVER they could do harm.

and, lastly, cows from the Iranian pen are being paid by the Iranian government to come over and stir up trouble for political benefit. I don't see your cause and effect as being the real cause and effect.
