Someone sensible stand up!

I have written before about "the cartoons" and I still feel they were insensitive and insulting AT THIS TIME.

However, I need to point out some things that worry me. Firstly, without offending Joeusers asa whole, I find that American readers are being overly vitriolic about Muslims in general. I feel that instead of fanning the flames, some of us could be adding petrol. I say this understanding 9/11 and 7/7 and the threats by terrorism. And I say this as a Christian. There are probably 10 terrorists for every 1 million peace-abiding Muslims. Could we perhaps word our reactions with this in mind?

Then I would like to comment on the reaction by Muslims themselves. I would like to quote Christina Gallach, spokeswoman for Javier Solana, EU Foreign Policy head: " What we have to ask is that Arab leaders, and Arabs themselves, who see the importance of having good relations with Europe and the Western World : Come out and speak clearly about the importance of not letting the situation deteriorate that the only one who suffers isa moderate Islam".

And, talking about not letting the situation deteriorate, let me ask this: Why did Syria, Lebanon and Iran allow the Danish and other embassies to be over-run and burn? Why did these things happen in cities with large armies and police forces. There is the smell of Syria's Assaad here and the tyrant Ahmadinejad ( You guessed right, I'm not completely unaware of the shit-stirrers too!)

I have a personal message to Iran's Ahmadinejad and his ilk: Print your crappy little cartoons on the Holocaust. We''ll be unhappy and offended. But we won't burn down your embassies and we won't villify you in London. And we won't tell our Youth to create havoc, just for the sake of a happy night out burning, destroying and shouting about things they know nothing about. We'll take it on the chin.

That is what I already stated about Syria.  Iran just has a history of that stuff, but you are correct, it was done with the tacit approval of the authorities.
